iichiko Mugi Shochu

Shochu is one of the most popular spirits in Japan, and it is made and distilled from various ingredients like barley (mugi), sweet potatoes (imo) or rice (kome). However, the most popular shochu would be shochu that are made from barley, like iichiko Mugi Shochu. This iichiko Mugi Shochu has an outstanding aroma combined with an excellent body. Made from 100% barley that is polished down till 60% of the grain remains, iichiko Mugi Shochu undergoes single distillation, resulting in a alcohol content of 25% and giving it is outstanding fragrance.

Calpis Hai

Ingredients

  • 60ml iichiko mugi shochu
  • 100ml calpis
  • mint leaves (optional)
  • berries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add iichiko Mugi Shochu, calpis and half a glass of ice into a blender. Blend till desired texture.
  2. Pour in a glass, garnish with mint leaves or berries

iichiko Watermelon Shochu

Ingredients

  • 60ml iichiko mugi shochu
  • 1/5 watermelon
  • crushed ice
  • lime (optional)
  • simple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut watermelon into cubes and add it in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Smash watermelon.
  3. Add lime and simple syrup as desired
  4. Add some crushed ice accordingly.
  5. Pour in iichiko Mugi Shochu and shake. 
  6. Ready to serve.

Grapefruit Hai

Ingredients

  • 60ml iichiko mugi shochu
  • 10ml grapefruit juice
  • sliced grapefruit

Instructions

  1. Add ice into glass.
  2. Build iichiko Mugi Shochu and grapefruit juice in glass.
  3. Garnish with sliced grapefruit.

Lychee Pop

Ingredients

  • 45ml iichiko mugi shochu
  • 10ml lychee syrup
  • club soda
  • mint leaves
  • lychee for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix iichiko Mugi Shochu andlychee syrup into cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Shake and strain into a glass with ice.
  3. Top with club soda.
  4. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary.
